RECOMENDATIONS AND PRECAUTIONS IN THE CARE OF YOUR INSTRUMENT.
Conservation conditions during the useful of strings as well as wind and percussion musical instruments are subject of the following recomendations and precautions:
- Avoid storing instruments where they will be exposed to extremes of humidity or temperature.
- Keep string instruments in their case or bag. Cover the face with a dry cloth before inserting in case for best protection.
- Do not loosen the string tension if the instrument is played frequently.
- If, however, the instrument will not be played for three months or more, loosen the strings to about a half of their normal tension.
- Do not leave instruments in a car on warm days as warping can result.
- When string instruments are placed on a table or other surface, they should be placed face down.
- In humid regions, potassium silicate or other drying agent should be placed in the case or inside the instrument itself. |
